It’s a week on the, numerically, smaller side (2 pages of count-in sheet, vs a normal 3-page list), but heckfire if there’s not a TON of terrific books this week…

The “arrival” lists are basically just cut & paste from my Diamond paperwork… which means that sometimes certain books get left off, because they’re ordered from BOOK distributor sources instead. Usually this is minor stuff, but this week we have three MAJOR releases, all on sale right now today (ah, street dates!): ARE YOU MY MOTHER HC (Alison Bechdel) DARTH VADER & SON (Jeffrey Brown) JERUSALEM (Guy Delisle) We also got AMERICAN BARBARIAN, SOFT CANDY, YOUNG LOVECRAFT, and GON v5. Yay to them all! -B

It is an interesting week! Here’s a rare occurrence — this week I have FOUR creator-owned books (AMERICA’S GOT POWERS, SAGA, SECRET, and SECRET SERVICE) which I’ve ordered more copies of than my highest ordered Marvel/DC universe book (BATWOMAN). If, for some reason, BATWOMAN got dropped, then I’d add two more indy books (ADVENTURE TIME and BUFFY) before my next superhero book (BATMAN AND ROBIN)

Hey, here’s a weird one — a Leap Year Day New Comics Day! We don’t get THOSE very often! (quick, someone tell us how infrequently!) And the publishers respond by… erm, the smallest ship week I’ve seen in years (seriously, look at that “book” section!) There are some TERRIFIC comics in this week… but not very many of them!
