Wait, What? Ep. 35: Useful Detritus, Somehow

Jeff Lester

Yeah, ran a little late for reasons about which I had very little control over…but hope you all are doing okay?

It’s Ep. 35, and Graeme and I talk Fear Itself #1, re-examine Fraction and Ferry’s Thor, talk Bakuman Vol. 4 and Onion Head Monster: Catastrophic, and answer questions posed to us on Twitter. It may sound a little skimpy on content, but that’s just because I’m not doing it justice at all: it’s 90+ minutes of red-hot (mostly) comics talk. Should be available on iTunes by the time this goes live, and you can also listen to it right here:

Wait, What, Ep. 34: Useful Detritus, Somehow

As always, thanks for listening–and special thanks to Dasbender and everyone else who took a second to give us a review on ITunes. It’s always appreciated.

  1. Graeme: did you read Osborn #4? There’s a specific reference to daddy issues there, too. The Fractions are definitely stalking you.

  2. Madame Hydra. As long as she’s drawn naughty.

  3. Well, it’s a creepy question, but Scandal. Scandal Savage.

WW? is always a pleasure, guys. Keep it up forever.

  4. Oh, and I had to think about it for a while: greatest action scene? Adam Warlock wresting control of the Infinity Gauntlet back from the Magus, Starlin and Lim, Infinity War #6. There’s an amazing two-page spread of the two larger than galaxies, struggling for the Gauntlet, with the sundry, useless heroes just specks in the foreground–and only recognizable because of a tiny but identifiable Galactus–and that image probably qualifies as my favorite panel in a comic ever.

Actually, Infinity War as a whole is very probably the world’s most underrated superhero comic. It’s no Dark Knight Returns, I guess. *Because it’s better.*
