  1. Batman #3:
Un-decompressed (so… compressed? that doesn’t seem right) enough so that I feel like I get my money’s worth. Good story per issue ratio! And a reasonably intriguing, if not earth-shattering, story at that. And nice art! I have to admit I couldn’t quite follow last month’s motorcycle-helicopter-train sequence very well art-wise, but I gather something very bad-ass happened, as the young people say.

    Captain America #4:
Eh. I don’t know. If the issue is entirely a battle in dreamland, then I’m out. If that’s it, then all I expect is a bunch of arbitrary pointless crap happening until the hero wins just because he’s awesome. But if it surprises me and becomes more interesting than it looks… Very on the fence about this one.

    Incredible Hulk #2:
First ish was alright. Silvestri’s still looking good and hopefully it’s going somewhere interesting. But frankly, at the end of the day, I’m shallow and childish enough that Hulk vs Hulked-Out Sharks makes the sale for me.

    Justice League #3:
Hopefully this continues the trend of more substance per issue while still looking pretty. We finally get to see Jim Lee showing off his new pantsy Wonder Woman!

  2. Funny how, whenever I check off multiple trades I figure the most expensive ones will be spaced out over the month, only to find them released on the same day (in this case CRADLEGRAVE and the Marshall Rogers HC). I am a nerd, and today, I hurt.

  3. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #674 – My prediction? It’ll be awesome.
BATMAN #3 – Same with this one.
    BLUE BEETLE #3
HAUNT #18 – Is Casey finally starting on this?
JUSTICE LEAGUE #3 – Has the internet stopped it’s whinge-fest yet, and started to enjoy this book? #2 was pretty cool.
    MORNING GLORIES #14
    MUDMAN #1
    SEVERED #4 (OF 7)
    SUPERGIRL #3
    VENOM #9
    WONDER WOMAN #3

  4. Sweet Christmas! It’s not coming. I am.

  5. Hey now, I want these comics:

    IZOMBIE #19
(Still waiting for it to grab me. Tenacious aren’t I? Or stupid. Probably the latter.)
JOHN CARTER A PRINCESS OF MARS #3
(Kind of knocks that Dynamite stuff into a cocked hat, doesn’t it?)
    KIRBY GENESIS CAPTAIN VICTORY #1
(“Victory is Sacrifice! Sacrifice is Continuity!” Me, I like the way Alex Ross draws Captain Victory like Michael York in a woman’s wig. I’m a complicated man.)
    MUDMAN #1
(Paul Grist’s totally new series! Hop-on board for some classy Brit antics! Grist-mas is coming!)
    NORTHLANDERS #46
(I think this series has been great. I don’t know if its historically accurate what with the crossbow and all but it’s certainly got the edge on G.I. Viking.)
    WONDER WOMAN #3
(This book is splendid but not as splendid as Wonder Woman’s appearances on B:TB&TB where she is constantly underscored by that incredible theme tune. Ba-ba-ba-ba-BA! It’s the music of life, I tellya! Life!)

Don’t worry Mr. Brian Hibbs, everyday is Christmas Day with COMICS!!!

  6. BACK ISSUE #52 (Bronze Age DC Horror Books!)

BATMAN #3 (has been doing exactly what it needs to do. A very good book)

COMIC BOOK COMICS #6 (OF 6) (A fantastic, witty and educational romp though comics history. Great reading. And available digitally for those whose shops don’t carry it)

JOHN CARTER A PRINCESS OF MARS #3 (OF 5) (My only frustration is that Langridge sometimes strays into modern slang from time to time, which I find oddly jarring, especially from Martians. I realize that sounds stupid)

KEVIN SMITH BIONIC MAN #4 (No sign of Ice Caverns or Bigfoot, but we may finally be at the point where Steve gets his gear. Really thought last issue’s dialogue zipped along, other than that trite scene with the *choke* widowed nurse.)

NORTHLANDERS #46 (John K(UK), me and about 4,000 other folks know this is a great book. This is why we can’t have nice comics)

THUNDERBOLTS #165 (the 1940s outfits for the Bolts sold me on this)

WONDER WOMAN #3 (on first read #2 left me a bit cold, but it got better each and every time I picked it up, to the point where I’m really quite excited about #3)

And since those hardly seem like enough, I’ll probably have a flip through the TREK 80 pg Giant (being a sentimental sucker), SUPERGIRL and BIRDS OF PREY.

  7. BATMAN #3
Enjoying it thus far – Probably the most comfortable reading experience of the relaunch. Some tweaks but visually rewarding almost on Capullo novelty.

    JUSTICE LEAGUE #3
This will be a big issue for me – I like what’s going on with Wonder Woman in her own title visually and story-wise. I need to see some cohesion because this is, you know, a relaunch to bring a consistent line wide vibe.

    LEGION OF SUPER HEROES #3
I think I’m more on this side of it as opposed to the Legion Lost version. That said – why make a small audience potentially choose their Legion loyalty. It’s called having an A plot and a B plot, you know?

    WONDER WOMAN #3
    Chiang me.

    STAR TREK 100 PAGE SPECTACULAR
Personally I’m hoping for nothing but Ensign Bearclaw being a dick or at the very least a lot of Mike Barr. Ah, childhood.

Andrew Loomis: Figure Drawing For All Its Worth HC
This book is the truth and you kinda need to know about it.

  8. Also of minor note – Batman #3 is out pulling Justice League #3 by a couple hundred copies on Comixology.
