  1. Batman Inc. 7
    Detective Comics 878
FF 5 (though I keep wondering when I will lose interest again…)
FP: The Canterbury Cricket (because I am that desperate for entertainment, though if Morales draws the whole book it will look nice at least)
Scalped 50 (sad that I am the only person at my lcs who reads this book)
    Xombi 4 (see above)

If I was still in school this would be a top shelf start to summer vacation with my 4 fav books coming out the same week.

  2. I have no desire to read Xombi, THUNDER Agents or Inc. anymore, since they’re all dead series walking. Actually, I have no desire to read any DC Comics, esp. any Flashpoint tie-ins, they’ve all been mediocre to awful so far. I’m not planning to buy any no. 2 issues. Really slow week, only FF & Usagi. What’s the All-Winners Squad book, that might be interesting?

  3. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #664
BATMAN ARKHAM CITY #3 (OF 5)
    BATMAN INCORPORATED #7
    BUTCHER BAKER RIGHTEOUS MAKER #4
    DETECTIVE COMICS #878
    FLASHPOINT GREEN ARROW INDUSTRIES #1
FLASHPOINT HAL JORDAN #1 (OF 3)
FLASHPOINT PROJECT SUPERMAN #1 (OF 3)
    FLASHPOINT THE CANTERBURY CRICKET #1
(The final four of the first month of Flashpoint tie-ins! Will there be any contenders to challenge Legion Of Doom and Reverse Flash for their positions as 1 and 2 in the ‘worst Flashpoint tie ins’?)
    SKULLKICKERS #8
    SUPER DINOSAUR #3
    THUNDER AGENTS #8
    XOMBI #4
AQUAMAN DEATH OF A PRINCE TP

If anyone missed the mini, Batman: Knight And Squire is well worth picking up.

  4. AMERICAN VAMPIRE #16
DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP #24 (OF 24)
    SKULLKICKERS #8
    WALKING DEAD #86

INCAL CLASSIC COLLECTION HC (HUMANOIDS ED)

  5. Let’s break things into three categories this week:

    1) Books I’ve Ordered, So No Use Complaining:

AMERICAN VAMPIRE #16 (no regrets here. Great book)

AVENGERS CHILDRENS CRUSADE #6 (the most Avengers-y book going right now, despite them multiplying like roaches when the lights are off (at last count including New New Avengers, Old New Avengers, Secret Avengers, Double Secret Avengers, Avengers 1959, Avengres 1858, Avengers for Hire, Avengers For Lease With No Money Down, and Avengers Die a Lot.) So since me, Jim Cheung’s mom and nobody else are reading this book, I thought I’d point it out to you Secret Critics. This would have been a great book in 2005. Although I’m sure that somewhere in Marvel HQ editors are complaining that too much story ‘alienates’ the average reader – it’s not what the kids want these days!)

DETECTIVE COMICS #878 (“what a great book!…. Quick break up the creative team!”)

FLASHPOINT PROJECT SUPERMAN #1 (Pre-ordered and now I’m stuck with it. I really love Gene Ha, and am usually game for ‘Superman through a lense darkly’. But now, that scenario *is* the mainstream Supes, making this all seem rather, I dunno…., superfluous. While I don’t consider myself one of Graeme’s 50,000 continuity zealots, this strange double relaunch has left me feeling a little…detached. So yeah, sign me up for $2.99 worth of meh.)

    2) Books I Wish I Was Liking More, So I Probably Won’t Buy Because I’m in a Funk Over the State of Comics in General:

Well JohnK(UK) dug up the grave of THUNDER Agents, and did something unsavoury – but hillarious – with the corpse. Nobody wants to follow up that act, although Pat Mills might give it a try. Mike Grell art on Paul Cornell should be weapons-grade awesome. It wasn’t.

Xombi #4 – wants to be Doom Patrol, even when Doom Patrol is having no success being Doom Patrol. Making the title seem either eponymous or ironic. Or cancelled.

    3) Books I Ought to Buy Just to Reward Competent Craftsmanship, Otherwise We Get Stuck With the Crapulent, Festering Cancerous Comics Marketplace We Deserve:

HONEY WEST ANNE FRANCIS COMM GOLD ED

    DEATH OF ZORRO #5

Comics–they make em, I read em. I need to quit being such an enabler.

  6. I’m mo be having:

    AMERICAN VAMPIRE #16
    (This issue: Japanazi Vampire action!)
    BATMAN INCORPORATED #7
(This Issue: The Batman of Greenland breaks up an underage drinking cabal!)
    CREEPY COMICS #6
(This issue: some reprints, please. Your hardbacks are too expensive!)
    SCALPED #50
(This issue: Balloons and cake all round in a 50th issue celebratory spectacular celebrating the magic of Life!)
    SIXTH GUN #12
(This issue: More quality cowboy supernaturality for everyone who wants to read Hellboy but can’t be bothered getting caught up.)
    THUNDER AGENTS #8
(This issue: “How about some peanuts? We have dry-roasted or salted?”)
    USAGI YOJIMBO #138
(This issue: Very much like the preceding 137 I imagine. Fine by me.)
    XOMBI #4
(This issue: Robbie Coltrane and Eric Idle guest star! The laughter never starts!)

@Corey(Ottawa: Did you know AVENGERS 1959 is by Howard Victor Chaykin!?! Let’s hope he doesn’t do an Oral History of The Avengers, eh? Eh? Knoworrimeen? (I reserve the right to use that joke again nearer the time of the comic’s release.)

COMICS!!! I keep buying ’em too! It’s like a sickness!

  7. @floob. I don’t understand why you would give up on comics which have been a great read in the past but you have lost interest in because they are essentially cancelled. Are you saying that you’ve never read a mini-series because they are only a four, six or ten issue arc? Even a single one shot can be an awesome read. If a story is a good read, then it’s worth getting. If it’s a crap story, then I understand, don’t bother.

  8. “me, Jim Cheung’s mom and nobody else are reading this book”

Well, I’m reading it, and so’s at least one other guy at my LCS, so… you and Mrs. Cheung want to arrange a pizza party after the last issue comes out some time next year?
